Commando lineman Rob Williams passes
A giant on the Commandos' offensive line, Rob Williams, passed away Sept. 26, reports coach Malcolm Townsend.
Rob's funeral has been set for 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Lake Roosevelt High School's football field.
Williams, 34, was one of the few players to be on the team from its inception, and one of the first to join. He called Townsend saying he wanted to be a Commando, and the coach immediately assigned him to play and coach the offensive line.
The 6-2, 310-pound Williams was a popular player, as well as a force on the valley football team. He always came to the games with a smile on his face, and determination in his play.
Williams hailed from the Grand Coulee Dam area.

LATEST NEWS Okanogan County Commandos will hold a practice at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, at The Plex in Okanogan.
